Transforming lives through mentorship for a better tomorrow.
Hi! My name is Akiya Maston—author, K-8 school principal, and proud 20-year veteran in education and student life. My mission is to use my lived experiences to help girls ages 10-14 discover (or rediscover) their uniqueness, confidence, and the beauty they bring to the world with parental/guardianship involvement. Drawing from thousands of student and family interactions, and a deep understanding of youth mentoring, I created GPS as both a personal guidance system and a scalable movement designed to support the growth and success of girls everywhere.
At its core, GPS is built on one essential truth: girls deserve the emotional, mindful, and relational support needed to navigate childhood and adolescence with confidence and care. GPS provides that nurturing, guided support—helping girls chart their path with clarity, purpose, and strength.
Our mission is to guide girls toward confidence, purpose, and leadership through supportive mentoring and a community that nurtures their inner strength.

At GPS, we are dedicated to empowering GPS girls through a unique empowerment program designed to build self-confidence, resilience, and leadership. GPS creates a safe, affirming ecosystem where girls can develop self-worth, emotional intelligence, and inner strength. Together, we help girls grow into confident leaders equipped to navigate life with purpose and courage.
